A solid introduction to learning how to write for stage and screen. The course examines various approaches covering development of original ideas, studying style and genre, undertaking adaptation, the differences between stage and screen as media and the requirements placed on the writer. Topics include:

Forms and process
Choosing a subject. Comedy or Tragedy?
Space and the Actor
Character and Dialogue
Through-lines of Action / Objectives
Subtext and the super-objective
Time, Setting, Context,
Dramatic Unities versus Chaos
